DABAR Rijssen-Wierden
A website that shows what DABAR stands for, with online sign-up for volunteers and an admin area they manage entirely themselves.
Delivered·February 2025, maintained and extended ever since

The brief
DABAR Rijssen-Wierden runs activities at a campsite and depends entirely on volunteers. New volunteers used to hear about it at information evenings and through flyers, and then signed up by phone, email or a text message. That worked, but it ran through several channels at once — and there was nowhere for someone to simply read what DABAR is about.
They wanted two things: to be visible online and explain what they stand for, and to make signing up easier.
What I built
A website that explains what DABAR does and what it stands for, plus three practical parts:
Volunteers sign up directly on the site and can get in touch there.
The order of service for the morning services and sing-ins is published on the site, so visitors can follow along.
Behind the site sits an admin area where DABAR reviews sign-ups, edits their own text, manages emails and settings, and approves reviews.
That admin area is deliberately the heart of the project. Whoever posts the new information each year should be able to do it themselves, without needing anyone else.
The hardest part
The difficult part of this project wasn't building it — it was deciding what to leave out. With an organisation that runs many different activities, the temptation is to put everything on the site, and then it becomes unreadable for exactly the visitor you're trying to reach.
I solved that by involving DABAR throughout. I showed them where things stood as I went and put choices to them rather than reporting them afterwards. That way we decided together what was genuinely needed and what could go — and there were no surprises at delivery.
What it delivers
DABAR is visible online and explains in one place what they stand for.
Volunteers can sign up directly through the site, alongside the information evenings and flyers they still run.
They manage their own text, settings and sign-ups through the admin area.
And there's an overview: sign-ups arrive in one place instead of being scattered across phone, email and chat.
The site has been live since February 2025 and has been maintained and extended since.
